They say that copying is the sincerest form of flattery. Well that doesn’t make it less ANNYOING! Why has the world become so devastatingly unoriginal? Every movie, every book, every advert on TV, has undoubtedly been seen before. Let’s examine this shall we?
Harry Potter – themes from Lord of the Rings, C.S Lewis, even a bit of Beowulf is in there. But it’s alright, these stories INSPIRED Harry Potter. It’s not just a blatant copy.
Twilight – Interview with a Vampire anyone? I’ve even read a Terry Pratchett book with a suspiciously similar concept. But hey, props to Stephenie Meyer, because at least she’s not as pathetic as the other cheapskates who are to follow.
It seems like as soon as one person has a good idea, a million others will just jump onto the bandwagon. And unashamedly STEAL THAT IDEA!
True Blood, The Gates, and has anyone had a look at the Vampire Diaries book cover; almost identical to the Twilight covers. IT’S RIDICULOUS! AT LEAST BE SUBTLE ABOUT IT!!!
How about those Toyota
Need I bring up Lady Gaga? Sure, she’s not completely original, but as soon as she became popular, EVERY SINGER had similar music and costumes! Don’t believe me? Take a look at Christina Aguilera’s new album cover. It’s like she’s trying to be Gaga. WTF?!
And then there’s just plain plagiarism. Like a certain blogger I know who writes about things that piss her off, whose rants got COPIED AND PASTED INTO SOMEONE ELSE’S BLOG! A blog with an incredibly similar name and concept.
NOTE TO PLAGIARISTS: YOU’RE PATHETIC, AND YOU DESERVE TO BE DROWNED IN THE SLIME OF A THOUSAND GIANT SLUGS MIXED WITH THE SPIT OF A THOUSAND ANGRY LLAMAS.
I’ve heard that people are sheep, but this is just taking it a bit too far.
Are people honestly incapable of coming up with unique ideas? I mean I know the feeling of “Ah man, I wish I’d thought of that!” but to then act like you DID?! It’s completely pathetic and quite frankly, IT PISSES ME OFF!
